Fromage is a worker-placement game where players become French cheesemakers in the early 20th century, competing to create the most prestigious creamery. Players simultaneously place workers to gather resources and make cheese on a rotating game board, aging their cheeses over multiple turns. The game features four venues (Festival, Fromagerie, Bistro, and Villes) offering various scoring opportunities based on cheese placement and resource management. Players score prestige points for their cheese, resource usage, and completed orders, with the most points at the game's end winning. A solo mode against a corporation adds an extra challenge.
