Today’s word is: endeavour – endeavour means: work extremely hard to achieve something; an attempt to reach a goal

In this English vocabulary lesson you will learn how to use the word endeavour.  We are sure that this ESL lesson will help you to enhance your English vocabulary and speak English fluently and confidently.

Example number 1 of 8: The market for mobile phone accessories is extremely competitive. The customers want to buy the best quality product. Hence, the president of the MOx company asked his team to endeavour for providing best customer satisfaction.

Example number 2 of 8: The marathon race is held for a distance of 42 kilo meters. It tests the stamina of the athletes. Many long distance runners endeavour to win a marathon.

Example number 3 of 8: Parth was an opening batsman in the match.  As the match progressed, other batsmen got out. But, Parth endeavoured till the end and won the match for his team.

Example number 4 of 8: Mother Teresa endeavoured for almost 50 years to serve the poor and sick.  Her efforts were recognized across the world and she was awarded a Nobel prize for her great service.

Example number 5 of 8: The cyclone hit the east coast of India. It destroyed the huts of the fishermen.  Aasha, a local NGO came to the rescue of these homeless people and endeavoured day and night to build temporary shelters for them.

Example number 7 of 8: Mr. Gomes was a rich businessman. But, in his endeavour to expand his business, he neglected his commitments towards his family. He regretted the same in the later part of his life.

Example number 8 of 8: Terrence joined Megacorp as a trainee. He worked closely with the owner of the company for two decades. Later, he expressed the desire to start his own business. His boss gave him the permission and wished him well in his future endeavors.
