February 09, 2004, Jon Romano entered his high school with a shotgun intent on going out in a blaze of glory and expected to be shot and killed by law enforcement. Ultimately what ended up happening is that several rounds were fired, a teacher was struck, a struggle ensued and Jon was taken into custody. Jon served 17 years for his crime. When released, he began to share his story on TikTok and gained notoriety. This is an interview where h tells the story as to what led up to him wanting to commit suicide by cop. Jon is on a mission now to help those in mental health crisis by being transparent with his own struggles, speaking to school administrators and law enforcement about how future school shooters can be stopped, and how we can all raise the bar for mental health.
