Taryn Watson is a Women's Health Physiotherapist (AKA a Vagina Physio!) who has worked in private practice in Perth and London for 15 years, niching down into the area of pre and postnatal exercise, and 'pelvic floor friendly' exercise for women of all ages.
From very early in her career, she realised that she had an entrepreneurial streak and nearly 10 years ago she created the business 'FitRight' and created a Pregnancy Exercise DVD. This quickly morphed into FitRight branded pregnancy and postnatal pilates classes, and then a training program to train other physiotherapists around Perth to become FitRight instructors, and within the next 3-4 years there were FitRight branded exercise classes all over Perth, from Currambine to Mandurah to Armadale to Cottesloe.
Throw in an IVF journey, two children and a pandemic, and Taryn's business journey has been quite a rollercoaster of adapting and surviving along the way! In 2021 and 2022, Taryn had to make some big decisions and ended up starting a second business, FitRight HQ, a multidisciplinary Women's Health Clinic, and scaling back and merging the original exercise class business into this. Now, with a business partner, much improved systems, and more extensive administrative support, Taryn finally feels like she's found her feet in business.
Taryn loves the flexibility, challenges and rewards that come with business ownership, but acknowledges that there have been way more tears, stress and heartache than if she worked as an employee for someone else!
