How teachers are tackling the return to school with Mr Burton and Ms Cunningham

Frazzled parents Jonathan Overend (BBC Radio 5 Live) and Deborah James (You, Me and the Big C) hear from two teachers about how they are adjusting to the phased return of students at secondary school. Jonathan speaks to Headteacher Mr. Burton from Educating Yorkshire about how the school is adjusting to social distancing and shares the sheer joy of seeing his students again. Debs speaks to Chiswick School teacher Ms. Eilidh Cunningham and her Year 8 student Maab who has been attending school since the beginning of lockdown. Maab explains why smaller classes and the change to the normal school routine have actually meant huge progress for her education. Ms. Cunningham shares stories from her attempts to homeschool her students and her fears for students’ knowledge gaps as a result of lockdown.
