The goal of the Bitcoin In Africa Show is to expand the narrative of Bitcoin by giving voice to innovators and early adopters that are leading the Bitcoin Revolution across Africa. In this podcast, we connect with fintech founders, developers, influencers, and ecosystem builders that are an integral part of Africa's Bitcoin story. We hope our podcast can help deepen your understanding of the global use case of Bitcoin across Africa and around the world. The show is created and hosted by former regulator and Bitcoin Activist Charlene Fadirepo.

On this June 2023 episode of the #Bitcoin In Africa Show, Charlene is live at the Bitcoin 2023 conference held in Miami, Florida. Charlene takes viewers all around the Bitcoin Expo and Bitcoin Bazaar at the Bitcoin 2023 conference. Inside the Bitcoin Expo, Charlene speaks with Alex Li, the Program Director of the Bitcoin Development Fund, which is sponsored by the Human Rights Foundation. In 2020, the Human Rights Foundation launched a fund to support software developers who are making the Bitcoin network more resilient so that it can better serve as financial tool for human rights activists, civil society organizations, and journalists around the world. Charlene speaks with Haitian conference attendee and Bitcoin exchange start up hopeful, Jacques Alexander about his conference experience. Lastly Charlene speaks with George Mekhail, Head of Community for Bitcoin Magazine about the Bitcoin Games. The Bitcoin Games is a tournament that celebrates the power of community for the Bitcoin ecosystem. 24 Bitcoin meetups from around the world h competed against each other for 1 full Bitcoin! The winning meetup hopes to use that Bitcoin to further their work in their community.
