BioGad is a podcast for anyone who wants to learn more about biological topics. My aim is to convey both general and in-depth knowledge of biology in a cross-topic and interdisciplinary way, making specialised knowledge accessible to all interested listeners. One of my goals is to highlight connections and present biology as an incredibly exciting and diverse field of knowledge.
From time to time, an episode will also be recorded in a language other than German.

A school class (Year 9) designed and analysed a deep-sea experiment carried out by Monika Bright’s team to investigate which food sources deep-sea animals prefer – the results showed a clear preference for animal-based and soft carbohydrate-rich food on nutrient-poor basalt. Methodological shortcomings led to important insights and new research questions, such as the impact of food consistency, competitive behaviour, and site selection.
