A member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, Dr. Applebaum has received numerous awards for his extraordinary contribution to forensic psychiatry, psychiatric aspects of jurisprudence, clinical trial ethics, capacity assessments, and medical aid in dying. Dr. Appelbaum brings a depth of experience and particular expertise to our discussion of “terminal anorexia nervosa” and the use medical aid in dying in psychiatry more broadly.
