What a pleasure it was to talk with @candytong12 about her incredible career up till now! You won’t believe how old this girl is considering the career she has had.  Candy Tong is a professional dancer with Complexions Contemporary Ballet, signed model with Stetts NYC/ LA, and most currently a fashion designer/ entrepreneur.  Born in San Francisco, California, she started her training at the San Francisco Ballet School under full scholarship. Candy graduated from the English National Ballet School (London, England) where she received a diploma in Dance from the Trinity College, whilst touring with the company.   Prior to joining ENB, Candy has been competing in dance competitions since she was a little girl, Crowned Miss Dance of CA in 2013, Top 3 for Miss Dance of America that same year. She has placed in top 3 for all prestigious world ballet competitions such as the prestigious; Youth America Grand Prix and American Ballet Competition. She has been featured both in Pointe Magazine and Dance Magazine, the NY Times, and Huffington Post some of her work has been showcased in many campaigns such as Nikon Europe, Reebok, Maybelline to name a few.  She has been named as “10 most inspiring dancers to follow on Instagram” by Dance Informa.   Besides dancing, Candy has been diving into her other creative realms such as launching her own brand from scratch called, Candy Tong - The Collection as well as establishing a Youtube Channel where she showcases daily vlogs of what it is like to be a professional dancer, especially during this pandemic.  For a little over a year now, Candy has been working on building her campaign, “Unapologetically Asian” in hopes to bring awareness to specifically the dance community the beauty and rare-find of what is to be an Asian American dancer in the ballet world.
