Hoy es un gran día porque en el podcast tenemos como invitado a Gustavo Lira García, artista muralista mexicano que lleva más de 26 años viviendo y creando arte en los Estados Unidos, en mi estado de Minnesota. Tiene mucha experiencia y talento en una variedad de técnicas, desde la pintura hasta el mosaico. Le tengo mucho respeto y admiración.
Yo conocí a Gustavo en 2011, cuando estaba preparando mi tesis en la universidad sobre el muralismo Latino – Latinoamericano y el cambio social. Gustavo se volvió mi mentor en el muralismo, y siempre ha sido muy simpático y generoso con sus recursos y conocimientos.
En esta oportunidad, hablamos un poquito de todo – de las diferentes técnicas, temáticas, y símbolos que Gustavo ha explorado en sus murales, y cómo él llegó a ser muralista en primer lugar. También revisamos varios murales en los que Gustavo ha trabajado durante su carrera, y Gustavo habla de su filosofía sobre el muralismo.
