We've reached our 10th episode! For this instalment of Beyond The Labels, we sit down with Amanda Masterson, the heart behind Daydreamers Sensory Barbering Room in Walkinstown, Dublin — a truly one-of-a-kind space designed specifically for neurodivergent children.
Drawing from over two decades of experience in the hairdressing and barbering industry, as well as her personal journey as a parent to a neurodivergent child, Amanda shares how she created a barbershop where understanding, patience, and play come first. From sensory-friendly tools and thoughtful routines to toy-filled waiting areas and calming communication, Amanda has built a service that fills a much-needed gap for families across Ireland.
This episode is a beautiful reminder that small changes in the environment — and big doses of empathy — can make everyday experiences safer, easier, and more joyful for neurodivergent children and their families.
