Dr. Deepti Jain is an Associate Professor and Scientist at the Regional Centre for Biotechnology. Dr. Jain has made significant contributions in the field of Structural Biology, particularly in understanding the molecular mechanisms of regulation of gene expression in pathogenic bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Her research involves utilizing an integrated approach, combining structural tools, biophysical techniques, biochemical methods, and functional in vivo assays. This has led to insights into the regulation of flagellar, biofilm, and antibiotic-resistant gene expression. Dr. Jain has leveraged these mechanistic insights to develop novel targets for the development of anti-biofilm agents. Throughout her career, Dr. Jain has been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the Early Career Award from SERB, the Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award from DBT, and the Jane Coffin Child Memorial Fellowship for medical research in the USA. Her passion for research and teaching has inspired countless students and fellow researchers.
