This week the Screen Queens dive broom-first into the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Halloweentown,’ aka the movie that made every millennial hope they also had secret powers. The hosts unpack everything from Debbie Reynolds’ iconic performance as Grandma Aggie to the chaotic world of Halloweentown (why was there a ghost in a sauna?). The movie’s comically low budget, campy dialogue, and practical effects gave it charm, but exposed its flaws. Becoming a witch and living in Halloweentown was a 90s kids’ dream but 25 years later the real world looks a little more appealing. The biggest question on our minds: Was ‘Halloweentown’ actually good, or were we just kids with no taste?
