Berlin Roundfunk aims to explore the Berlin music scene through its musicians. I talk to them to find out why they've decided to move and stay in Berlin. From DJs to folkrock musicians and outside buskers, I invite musicians from the entire spectrum - as long as they consider themselves Berlin-based.

#14 - Making Emotions Visible through Art w/ Steve Mekoudja
This week features Steve Mekoudja, the self-declared multi-artist that combines writing, singing, dancing, cooking, computer engineering and even acting into a bubbling mix of art and music. His last album was an attempt to make visible what tends to be hard to talk about: troubled masculinities are often hard to bring into words, says Mekoudja, and art can often express without words those emotions that men otherwise lack the language to.
His music is smooth yet upbeat, seemingly innocent but rebelliously in your face. It doesn't fool around, and neither does Steve Mekoudja. His new album will shift its focus from the difficulties of expressing emotion to the political and cultural issues in his homeland, Cameroon.
For anyone who has been looking for music that deconstructs masculinity and at the same time provides a way out, Steve Mekoudja stands as a beacon of hope.
