In this episode of the Being Human podcast I sat down with Brady Holmer. Brady is an endurance athlete with an MSc in Human Performance. Brady is also a science writer, who researches and writes about the latest developments in the world of physiology, nutrition and other areas pertaining to human and athletic performance.


I have been reading Brady’s Substack ‘Physiologically Speaking’ for the past two years almost, from which I have picked up countless gems to aid me in improving my endurance and overall athletic performance.


In this conversation we focused greatly on how to improve your endurance.


Brady shared:

- How to improve your VO2 max, aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity and lactate threshold.

- Whether you need to eat protein directly after training or not.

- Whether not eating carbs post-training can harm your recovery.

- Whether going low-carb or keto is optimal for endurance athletes or not.

- Tips to improve your running economy.

- The best way to add volume to your running program.

And a whole lot more.
