Coexistence with Piarvé Wetshi, Orsola de Castro and Rahemur Rahman

In this episode, co-founder of Colèchi Piarvé Wetshi, fashion designer, filmmaker and Community Curator Rahemur Rahman and leading sustainability figure and author Orsola de Castro discuss coexistence, the importance of community-centred platforms and the need for interconnectivity, holistic support, diversity and lived experiences. Coexistence is a recurring topic of discussion in Trash Talk, referencing one of Trash Club’s pillars ‘People’.

Trash Club invites creatives from multidisciplinary practices from around the world to discuss what it means to be creative: the ups and downs and how our successes and failures shape who we are both personally and professionally.

About the Host:

Piarvé Wetshi is the co-founder of Colèchi a collective agency acting towards sustainable development in the fashion industry. Using action research to provide insights into innovation for organisations and brands working in fashion, Colèchi explores how the fashion industry could be redefined to meet the needs of a more ethical and sustainable industry.

About the Guests:

Rahemur Rahman is a fashion designer, filmmaker and Community Curator known for his significant contributions to the British-Bengali diaspora and innovative use of traditional Bengali block printing techniques through his eponymous menswear label. He is deeply committed to preserving and promoting his cultural heritage, and reimagining how queer creatives in the South Asian community are perceived.

Orsola de Castro has been a leading figure in sustainable fashion for the past 20 years. She is the co-founder of Fashion Revolution, the world’s largest fashion activism movement and Estethica, the organisation creating agency for change in the fashion industry. In 2021 she published her book ‘Loved Clothes Last’, providing ways to breathe new life into one’s wardrobe.
