Saar is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he practices hematology oncology and leads a research lab. The goals of the Gill lab are to produce effective and safe CAR-T cells for the treatment of hematologic malignancies. Saar and his lab team have co-founded two biotech companies: Carisma Therapeutics, a CAR-Macrophage company, as well as Interius BioTherapeutics, a company developing in vivo CAR-T cell therapy.
