Before the Angelus
Virtue, Beauty, Rules and Heroes: Why March 21st is a Feast Day in My House

Walton reflects on two of his greatest heroes, St. Benedict of Nursia and Johann Sebastian Bach. Today is a good day to celebrate these great men, being the death day of one and the birthday of the other, and what better way than to read a biography from a couple of dusty, old books: Omer Engelbert's Lives of the Saints (1951) and Percy Scholes' The Complete Book of the Great Musicians (1920). Then there's a bit of Erbarme Dich. You'll love it.
