Episode 56 - Pouring Out A Little Lambic For Brews News
Welcome back to the Beer O'Clock podcast, it's been a long, long time between drinks! It feels like every month I'm apologizing for how hectic it's been around here - but maybe that is just the new normal... With any luck this is the first of a few episodes that we get out roughly a month or so apart.   If this is your first time listening to a Beer O'Clock Australia podcast, welcome! We change the segments up a little each month, however most months we'll discuss some of the latest news from the beer world, we'll talk about some beers that we've been enjoying over the last month & we'll crack something interesting from my cellar. This episode we cover, in true Beer O'Clock fashion, plenty of (very, very) outdated news, some stuff we've been drinking, add a lager to our master list & crack a cellar offering. It's about as quintessential as possible!   Show Notes   News (2:18) Brews News Is No More Beer & Brewer Moving Away from Print Pint of Origin Dates Announced May 10-19th Mountain Culture Status Quo Takes Out The Hottest 100 Wildflower Hosting Zwanze Day Duvel Ransomwared & Shut Down Two Men Brewing (Ukraine) Launch Fundraising Collab w Modus Operandi Awards (12:40)Royal Queensland Beer Awards Brewery Openings Matso's Eumundi Voluntary Administration Watch Wayward Went In & Came Out Hawkers Went In & Came Out Big Shed In Golden West In Brewery Closure  Bracket Being Moved From Their Existing Site Wild Life (Shepparton) Closing After 5 Years Brewery Sales Willie The Boatman Sell To Powder Monkey Ranking of Lagers (25:31) 2 this month Angkor from Cambodia Star from Nigeria The new rankings are as follows: Pilsner Urquell (Czech Republic) Tennent’s (Scotland) Carlsberg (Denmark) Quilmes (Argentina) Kingfisher (India) Angkor (Cambodia) Stiegl Goldbrau (Austria) Gullmack (Norway) Lvivske (Ukraine) Sapporo (Japan) Taiwan Beer (Taiwan) Dreher (Hungary) Birra Moretti (Italy) Nektar (Bosnia & Herzegovina) Bud Light (USA – Domestic) Corona (Mexico) Steinlager (New Zealand) Windhoek (Namibia) Almaza (Lebanon) Heineken (Netherlands) Lion (Sri Lanka) Cisk (Malta) San Miguel (Philippines) Maccabee (Israel) Snow (China – Internal) Cantina (El Salvador) Lasko (Slovenia) 333 (Vietnam) Stella Artois (Belgium) Phoenix (Mauritius) Tusker (Kenya) Budweiser (USA – International) Skopsko (North Macedonia) Zywiec (Poland) Mythos (Greece) Tiger (Singapore) Karlovacko (Croatia) Efes (Turkey) Singha (Thailand) Red Stripe (Jamaica) Bintang (Indonesia) Toña (Nicaragua) Lav (Serbia) Sagres (Portugal) Vonu (Fiji) Star (Nigeria) Cusquena (Peru) Pabst Blue Ribbon (Contract) Timisoreana (Romania)   What We're Drinking (36:54) Kai El Gales Smiley 3806 Two Rupees Fox Friday Richmond Banks Worth The Wait Hawkers OG IPA  Noz's Cellar (53:39) Cantillon Sang Bleu 6% ABV Thumbs Up Thanks again for listening guys.
