Meet Tekoa Pouerie:
Tekoa Pouerie embraced salvation at age 10 and delivered her inaugural sermon at 12, mentored by Dr. Genevia Boyd under the guidance of Apostle R.G. Williams. Ordained in high school, Tekoa became the youngest minister in her jurisdiction. She continued her journey at the University of Central Florida, founding the Women's Prayer Band, a Christian collegiate organization impacting thousands of students, many of whom entered ministry and pastoral roles.
Graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies, Tekoa launched a consulting business focused on training stakeholders to address implicit and explicit biases within the criminal justice system. She is a prominent sought after keynote speaker and trainer sharing her expertise, best practices, and personal story to inspire others. Tekoa sessions have influenced over 15,000 professionals across medical, mental health, trauma, prevention, forensic interviewing, criminal justice, public policy, and research sectors.
Throughout her career, Tekoa has held pivotal leadership roles, including Executive Director of Power Promise Inc. and Chief Development Officer at Harbor House of Central Florida. Currently serving as Vice President at Pace Center for Girls – Headquarters, Tekoa advocates for the well-being of over 4,000 girls across 21 centers spanning Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, managing a $60 million annual budget.
In addition to her professional achievements, Tekoa is actively involved in numerous organizations and boards, including Florida Executive Women, The Links Incorporated, and the Mayor of Orlando's Community Investment Panel. Her contributions have earned her esteemed awards such as the NBA’s Orlando Magic Social Justice Game Changer Award, Onyx Magazine's Woman on the Move Award, and the Orlando Business Journal Champion of Diversity Award. In 2024, Tekoa was honored as Orlando Magazine's Woman of the Year.
Tekoa finds her greatest pride in her role as wife to Dio Pouerie and mother to Maximus and Bella. Together with her husband, she Pastors at Acceleration Church in Orlando, FL, where their mission emphasizes the synergy of faith and works in both ministry and the marketplace.
