Ode to Immigrant Workers
This week, Beat Latino celebrates immigrant workers, and honors the memory of Miguel Luna, Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, Dorlian Cabrera, José Maynor Lopez, Maynor Yassir Suazo Sandoval, Carlos LNU — Immigrant workers fixing potholes in the middle of the night on the Francis Scott Key Bridge, named for the author of the Star-Spangled Banner. They were killed when the bridge collapsed. Songs from musicians with roots in their homelands – Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador are the selection of this week’s Beat Latino. ¡Vivan all immigrant workers!  Musical Works TitleArtistAlbumLabelYearLengthImmigrants (We Get the Job Done)K’NAAN, Residente, Riz Ahmed, Snow Tha ProductThe Hamilton Mixtape.Hamilton Uptown Limited Liability Company under exclusive license to Atlantic Recording Corporation for the United States and WEA International Inc. for the world outside of the United States.20604:42La FronteraLhasa De SelaThe Living Road.Les Disques Audiogramme inc.200303:03Era PrimaveraChicano BatmanNotebook Fantasy.ATO Records, LLC.
