We chat with Richard about his coming out, what it was like to start a bear focused magazine in an older generation of media, the evolution of the bear community, inclusivity in the LGBTQ community, the future of gay media, building bridges with other members of the community, body positivity and more!

Richard is the Co-Founder of Gray Jones Media. He has a background that has encompassed TV presenting, magazine editing and theatre production. In early 2012, he began working on a project that would see Bear World Magazine launch its first issue in September that year. He went on to grow Bear World Magazine into the leading lifestyle bear title in the world which just celebrated its tenth anniversary. Joined by Robin Gray, he has grown the business into one that authentically celebrates diversity throughout the LGBTQ community. He is recognized as a leader and expert in LGBTQ media.
