You are always on guard; you numb your emotions to avoid getting triggered by the simplest things, and you always act as if everything is ok, even though you are slowly wilting away inside. And then, one day, you have had it. You want the pain and the constant reminder to leave; you want your life back. But then you may wonder: “What for? Is it worth going through all those memories again? What happens after I heal?”
I used to live with the trauma for many years. I know how devastating it can be. But, I have found a way to heal, and what I discovered in my journey and afterward is that you won’t know how much trauma is stopping you from truly living until you have released yourself from its grasp.
