Season 3, Episode 4 "Receive Series: Receive Your Calling --- it's not too late!" with guest speaker, Rebecca George

Welcome to the Be Encouraged Podcast!

You are in for a treat as we are near the end of our Receive series with just one more episode to go after this one! This is Season 3 you are listening to with Episode 4.

I am your host, Jackie Brindle, and welcome!! I apologize for the technical difficulties that this one did not get published sooner! But I have a feeling- this is worth the wait!

If you are loving the Be Encouraged! Podcast, please leave a raving review on Apple Podcast so that others may know where to be encouraged just like you! If you are curious where to find me on social media and you are new here —- you can follow me on Instagram @be_encouraged_podcast —- click follow for all the latest update and encouraging content! And share – tag me with a friend because I know that’s what friends are for!

I appreciate you so much now let’s hop into it!

Now, as we laid down the foundation of what we believe in the Believe series, we can receive the fullness of who Christ is as He dwells within us. So far we have covered receiving our identity in Christ, especially in the preparation and waiting season of life. We’ve touched on how when we receive the courage of God, we can walk boldly into areas of our daily lives. And in the last episode, we uncovered how we can receive peace in the chaos of our days, by understanding two truths – that God is in control and we can trust Him.

Today, with open hands, I want to encourage you to receive God’s calling in your life. There are many times, I have felt discouragement, like giving up — ending something and starting over —- in desperate need of encouragement and a new strengthened spirit to endure and keep going.

Sometimes distraction, distance, and lies can so easily creep in and pull us further away from the direction we know God has called us to go.

If you are feeling the tension — the pull – the need for encouragement to keep going — this one is for you!

Who better to help us than the author of “You’re Not Too Late: Trusting God’s Timing in a Hurry-Up World”, and well known podcast host of Radical Radiance Podcast! Additionally she is the founder of Camp for Creatives, where Christian authors, speakers, podcast hosts, business women, and ministry leaders can come together and encourage one another.

This is none other than the fabulous Rebecca George!

Rebecca is the perfect person to dive into this topic of calling because she has written about this and the very distractions that leads us away from what God is calling us to do. How can we let go of the comparison trap and embrace exactly where we are in the journey? Consequently, how do we open-handedly receive the gifts and talents the Lord has blessed us with and take the next step to move forward?

I hope this prayerfully sends you onward with a renewed sense of God’s purpose in your life and leads you to take the next step toward what God is calling you to do. Don’t give up, friend, your story isn’t over, you are just getting started!

So let’s grab your cup of coffee, get you your walk or run, or wherever you are….. Be Encouraged!

Vee Summer is our first guest speaker for the Receive series! Vee is an author and speaker. She recently wrote the book, “Prepared for Him: Become secure in your relationship with Jesus as you prepare for your future husband."

For those walking through singleness, this is an incredible and deeply profound book. It will also provide specific prayers for your future husband, while keeping Jesus at the center of it all.

Specifically, in this episode, Vee and I unpack the power of receiving our identity in Christ alone as our value and worth in this life, so we can walk through each season with God's confidence.

She unravels how, through her own walk of faith, things shifted in friendships and relationships. The more open she was in receiving a relationship with Jesus, the more her identity in Him became clearer.

Be Encouraged! Podcast with Jackie Brindle
Season 2 Episode # 7 "Believe Series: God's Way is Better"

Welcome back to the Be Encouraged! Podcast! You are listening to esode # 7 and final episode of the Believe series called, God’s Way is Better

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Are you in a season of waiting, wondering if all your creating, doing, and striving is making a difference?

This episode gently reminds us that God is the ultimate Creator—and that His plans are far better than the ones we could ever imagine for ourselves. Through personal testimony, biblical truth, and reflective encouragement, I am inviting you to examine whether your efforts are aligned with God’s calling… or if you’ve been trying to do it all on your own.

We'll talk about:

  • The difference between creating or working with God versus creating or working for ourselves.

  • Why listening, obeying, and surrendering are keys to unlocking true peace and purpose in Christ.

  • How the book of Isaiah shows us hope and redemption, even in seasons of silence and uncertainty.

  • Practical ways to discern your priorities and realign your creative plan with God's plan.

Whether you’re a mom, teacher, student, artist, or a dreamer—this one’s for you. Because your work, when surrendered to God, does matter. He sees you. He’s not finished with you. And His way? Always better!

Reflection Questions:

  • Am I creating for God’s glory or my own?

  • Do I trust God enough to surrender my timelines, goals, and expectations to Him?

  • What do I need to lay at Jesus’ feet today?

Mentioned in this Episode:

  • Elisabeth Elliot’s words: “Trust and Obey.”

  • The power of creative rest and trusting God’s timing.

  • Encouragement for those waiting on job doors to open or clarity to come.

Takeaway Quote:
"When we walk by faith, we surrender our view and trust God's. His ways are always higher. Always better."

Be Encouraged! Podcast with Jackie Brindle
Season 2 Episode # 6 "Believe Series: Believe God Cares About You!" Host - Jackie Brindle

"God Cares About You" — Be Encouraged! Podcast

Have you ever felt like God just… doesn’t see you?

Like you're doing all the right things, but still feeling unseen, unheard, or overwhelmed with worry? Same. I’ve been there—wondering if God really cares about the pain I’m feeling, the prayers I’m praying, and the things I’m still waiting for.

But today, we’re resting in this truth from 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT):

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.”

This verse has been such a balm for my soul lately, and in this episode, I want to walk with you through what it really looks like to live this out. Not just reading it, but believing it. Deeply. Personally.

We’ll talk about:

  • The real-life moments that make us question if God truly sees us (yes, even tantrums in the grocery store and the sting of being left out)

  • How we sometimes carry around things God never meant for us to hold

  • Why casting our cares on Him starts with humbling our hearts

And I’ll leave you with 3 simple takeaways to help you come back to this truth: God cares for you. Deeply. Intimately. Always.

Whether you're in a season of waiting, worry, or weariness—this one's for you, friend.

✨ Here's what we’re holding on to:

  1. Remind your heart of who God is and what He’s already done.

  2. Cast it out (and don’t reel it back in --- Let it go, for real!)

  3. Trust Him with the parts of your story you can’t see yet.

Because the truth is—God doesn’t need us to have it all together. He just wants our heart. He wants to carry what’s too heavy for us. Why? Because He cares about you.

🎧 Listen now wherever you tune in—Apple, Spotify, or your favorite platform. 📖 Scriptures we’ll walk through: 1 Peter 5:6-7, Luke 12, Psalm 139, Isaiah 40, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Send to a friend who needs this reminder. Drop a review if you’re casting your cares today—one by one.

Be Encouraged! Podcast with Jackie Brindle
Season 2 Episode #5 "Believe Series: Believe God is the Author of Life and Your Life"

Welcome to the Be Encouraged! Podcast. I am your host, Jackie Brindle and you are listening to the Believe Series. This is a seven part series. Today is episode # 5 in the Believe Series.

This episode is so special! I believe there is something beautiful about the start of something new, thinking about how things began, and dreaming up how the story will end.

Recently, I’ve been doing a deep dive into my family tree — asking questions I wish I had asked my grandmother when she was still here. Things I didn’t think mattered when I was 17… but now, at 40, I find myself longing to know where I came from and why it matters.

But as I searched for the beginning of my story, it stirred something deeper in me — a curiosity about the beginning. Who wrote all of this? Who dreamed me up before I ever existed?

Have you ever asked these questions before? Have you ever wrestled with God with things you don't understand that happened to us in life or in the Bible, too?

This episode of the BE ENCOURAGED Podcast is personal. It’s a reflection on identity, legacy, and the One who authored it all — God. From Genesis to today, He’s been writing a story of redemption, new beginnings, and purpose… even in the messy parts.

If you’re in a new season — expected or not — I pray this reminds you: God is in the new. He’s in the unknown. He’s in the questions. And He’s not afraid of your wrestle.

Ask Him. Seek Him. I promise, He’ll meet you there. 🤍

Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be open to you. For anyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and the one who knocks the door will be opened."

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight"

Be Encouraged! Podcast with Jackie Brindle
Season 2 Episode # 4 "Believe Series: Believing and Dreaming" with Guest Speaker, Christina B.

Welcome back to the BE ENCOURAGED! Podcast. We’re halfway through the year, and maybe you're still holding tight to those big dreams you set out to pursue in January… or maybe life has caused them to take a back seat. You might be in what we call “the messy middle”—where the excitement of starting has faded and the finish line feels unclear. Maybe you’re dreaming about that someday moment, unsure how all the pieces will come together.

If that’s you today, you’re not alone. And you’re in the right place.

Our guest today is here to remind us that even in uncertain seasons, we can still choose to believe. Christina B., host of the Dream Lab Podcast, is passionate about helping dreamers like you and me take bold steps of faith—practical, prayerful steps—that bring what's inside our hearts out into the world.

She’ll encourage us to trust God with every part of the journey—especially the uncomfortable parts—and to surround ourselves with praying encouragers who remind us that slow progress is still progress. Even when it feels like we’re moving at a snail’s pace, God is at work.

Christina also reminds us of something powerful: the gift of today. Being present in the moment is where peace and clarity often meet us. She encourages us to listen to our bodies, to honor the resting rhythms our soul, body, and mind need—so we don’t burn out before the dream even gets off the ground.

She challenges us to step outside our comfort zones—not to strive harder, but to depend more deeply on the One who calls us forward. As she puts it, God’s the one who called us out of the boat in the first place.

I’ll leave you with this quote from 20th-century poet Lilias Trotter, who wrote:
“Take the very hardest thing in your life—the place of difficulty, outward or inward—and expect God to triumph gloriously in that very spot. Just there—He can bring your soul into bloom.”

Take a breath, settle in, and get ready to be encouraged. Here’s my conversation with Christina B.

- Jackie

Season 2 Episode # 3, Believe Series: Choosing to Believe that God is Good with guest speaker, Carol McLeod

Welcome to Season 2, Episode 3 of the BE ENCOURAGED! podcast — and let me tell you, this one is something special. Although there was a short break between episode 2 and now to episode 3, I appreciate the grace in getting this out to you later than usual. I assure you, though this will be worth the wait!

Today, we’re diving deep into the believe series.

Believe, is not just as a thought, a feeling, or a hope — but as our guest speaker today puts it, it’s an action. As a daily decision. As a powerful, faith-filled posture that shifts how we show up in the world. And to help us unpack this life-giving theme, we are honored — truly honored — to welcome the one and only Carol McLeod to the conversation.

Carol is known and deeply loved by readers, television audiences, and other Christians across the country, especially women who have been uplifted by her raw honesty, biblical wisdom, and unshakable hope. She’s the President and CEO of Carol McLeod Ministries, a powerhouse speaker at women’s conferences and retreats, and the author of more than a dozen books. But more than her titles, it’s her testimony that speaks the loudest.

In this episode, Carol shares what it really looks like to believe — when the diagnosis is bad, when the healing hasn’t come, when life feels like it’s falling apart. She doesn’t sugarcoat her journey. She talks about fighting cancer, battling through painful seasons, and waking up each day making the bold decision to believe that God is still good. That Jesus is still enough. And sometimes? That’s the belief that gets us through.

We’re also excited to highlight the book, Today is a Verb: Open the Gift of Now in Every Ordinary Moment — because believing isn’t just about someday; it’s about today. Right here. Right now. In the middle of the ordinary, the laundry folding,l and unchecked to do lists, we’re invited to live with expectancy, courage, and unwavering belief in who God is.

So if you’re struggling to hold on, or just need a fresh reminder that believing is the action that will get you through the hard places you might find yourself in — this episode is for you.

Grab your cup of coffee, get on your walk or run, or wherever you are — Let’s believe and be encouraged— together.

Season 2, Episode # 2: Believe Series, "Building a Strong Foundation" with guest speaker- Bethany Marshall

Welcome back to Be Encouraged! In this episode, # 2 - Season 2, we’re diving deep into what it means to build a strong foundation in Christ—one that holds us steady no matter what life brings. We’ll explore how encouragement strengthens our faith, reminding us that God is for us, that we are His daughters, and that being rooted in Him leads to a flourishing life.

We’re also unpacking the power of mentorship and discipleship, the real struggle of surrendering control, and how faith stirs up strength when storms arise. Letting go of our own desires can feel daunting, but when we surrender, we give God permission to move in ways beyond our understanding.

And today, we have a very special guest—Bethany Marshall! Bethany ministers to the youth alongside her husband, Micah Marshall, who is the founder of Refuge Youth Network. Bethany is also an author, and a key leader in PennDel’s Women’s Ministry Dream Team. Additionally, the founder of the Daughter’s Conference, where she encourages women to embrace their God-given worth. Bethany carries a deep passion for reminding women of their value and identity in Christ, and she’s here to speak life and truth over you today.

You can find more details about Bethany and her ministry in the show notes!

Also, if you love this episode, be sure to leave a review! I’d love to give you a shout-out in a future episode as a way of saying thank you for being part of this community. Your support means so much!

Now, let’s dive in and be encouraged together.

Be Encouraged! Podcast with Jackie Brindle
Episode # 140 "Recap of 2024 & JOY!" with host, Jackie Brindle

Wow, what a year it’s been! 🎉

As we wrap up 2024, I’m taking a moment to reflect on all the amazing things God has done in and through this podcast.

In this episode, we’re looking back at the highlights of the year, including our most listened-to episode, 120 New Age to New Hope in Christ with the incredible Heather Youpa. I’m so thankful for each and every one of you who’ve been part of this journey—your support and encouragement mean the world! 🙏💕

This episode is all about finding joy—real, lasting joy, not just as a feeling but as something deeply rooted in Jesus. From the big moments to the little everyday joys with family, nature, and serving God, I’ve had so many prayer-filled, joy-filled moments to reflect on. But it’s also about being real and acknowledging that there are joy stealers like:

perfectionism,

comparison,

unforgiveness,

and doubt.

But in the midst of it all, we have Jesus, and He’s the source of our true joy!

And guess what? I’m SO excited about what’s ahead!

As we kick off 2025, I’m taking a little break—a 6-week sabbatical from the podcast and a social media detox (whoa, right?!). It’s time to recharge, pray, and reflect, and I can’t wait to come back in February with even more encouragement, inspiration, and joy to share with you all! ✨ So, don’t go anywhere, I’ll see you in the first week of February!

Episode 139, "The Hard and the Beautiful"

Episode 139 is a powerful reminder of God’s unwavering faithfulness and the way He works in our lives, even through difficult circumstances. The story of Joseph is such a profound example of how God can take the hardest moments and transform them into something beautiful. Joseph’s journey—from being betrayed by his brothers, to being unjustly imprisoned, and eventually rising to a place of leadership—shows us that even when things seem out of our control, God is orchestrating a greater plan.

It’s encouraging to think about how God can take our own struggles, setbacks, and moments of loneliness, and use them for His greater purpose. Joseph didn’t understand the plan as he walked through his hardships, but God was always at work, refining his character and positioning him for something greater. Similarly, it’s powerful to reflect on how God uses our own unique paths, no matter how unexpected or difficult, to prepare us for the future He has in mind.

I love the reminder that no matter how tough things may feel, God is still working things out for His good. He doesn’t forget us, even when we feel unseen or overlooked. This episode sounds like a beautiful invitation to embrace the hard and the beautiful, trusting that with God, all things are possible. He’s got us, and He will never let us fall through the cracks.

I hope you find this mini bit of encouragement both uplifting and inspiring!

Jackie

Episode # 138 "A Little Goes a Long Way" with guest speaker Rachael Adams

Episode # 136, "How Can I Serve Others with a Good Attitude?" with host, Jackie Brindle

Do you know someone who needs an attitude check?

Are you nodding your head yes?

Great!

But first, let's check our own attitudes at the door.

This is something God has been showing me throughout my day and life, when my attitude is negative or focused on complaining. He showed me through a few instances, that when I have a bad attitude or let other's bad attitudes affect me, I miss opportunities to be a blessing!

Think about it, if we are to serve others with a good attitude and to do good works like Ephesians 6 tells us, then how can I do that effectively if I have a sour attitude towards what I am in the position of doing?

I have to ask myself, "What can I do today to help me remove barriers that keep me out of the pit of my bad attitude and shake off others that pull me down with them?

The old saying goes, "My response is my responsibility".

This saying was something that shook my core and changed my attitude, during one of the times, I should have been helping the one that I loved, but instead focused on me. Then, I realized my stinking attitude had seeped into that conversation and the work I was doing.

The one small step of giving myself a heart and attitude check with God was humbling and just what was needed. Turning to the Lord, changed everything!

Perhaps, you have struggled like me with a bad attitude when helping others and need an encouraging word to know you are seen, appreciated, and loved!

So grab your cup of coffee, get on your walk or run, and wherever you are ---- BE ENCOURAGED!

Episode # 135 “Raising Up the Next Generation, Part TWO: “Be the Difference in Gen Alpha’s & Gen Z’s Life and Allow Them to be the Difference in Yours TOO!”

Welcome back to the BE ENCOURAGED! Podcast, you are listening to episode 135 “Raising Up the Next Generation, Part TWO: “Be the Difference in Gen Alpha’s/Gen Z’s Life and Allow them to be the Difference in Yours.”

If you did not listen to Lauren Gaine’s episode with Part 1, I encourage you to go back and listen.

These two episodes pair well together to give everyone the encouragement to be the difference in the generation you are raising up in your home, teaching, mentoring, and interacting with.

Specifically, I think you will also find that by the end of this episode with our lovely guest speaker and expert, Kim Nolan, you will find yourself curious to see how Gen Z and Gen Alpha can offer more to our lives than we realize!

🌟 That’s why Young Life's latest study dives deep into the world of today's adolescents, revealing a powerful narrative beyond mental health concerns.

Kim describes the profound insights to their research and highlights Gen Z and Gen Alpha (13-year-olds). The research showcases incredible strengths when they develop a strong identity, agency, and self-concept—especially when bolstered by faith.

When we are open to listening intently, making others feel important and worthy of our time and love, and by providing opportunities to connect with younger and older generations, THIS, bridges the gap so that we can all flourish together!

So, parents, take heart! These findings highlight that there's so much going right with our younger generation.

Interestingly, adolescents crave meaningful relationships with their mothers and need active involvement from their fathers.

Let's open our ears and hearts to truly listen and engage. You'll be amazed at how much they want us connected, just as we do. 💖

So grab your cup of coffee, get on your walk or run and be encouraged!

Episode #134 "Raising Up the Next Generation, PART ONE: Unshakeable Kids" with guest speaker, Lauren Gaines

Welcome to the BE ENCOURAGED! Podcast! I am your host, Jackie Brindle!

This is episode 134.

To recap, the last two episodes were an encouragement to the seeds we set for our children will impact the next generation, whether that’s in modeling behaviors, owning our own faith, or through the prayers we say with them and on behalf of our children/or the children you are taking care of.

For most of us, we are in a season of a new school year, which means new phases in parenting and teaching the next generation.

My prayer is that we raise up the next generation to not only be resilient but also to flourish! As a parent, teacher, aunt, and being a part of a community, I want to know how can I be a part of this movement? What can I do to help support and foster an environment that develops emotionally healthy and strong children in a world where discerning the truth and connecting with the next generation is needed now, more than ever.

That’s why the next two episodes are titled — Raising Up the Next Generation (to be Unshakeable, Resilent, and Flourishing). You will listen in to incredible conversations from women who have specialized backgrounds and credentials in the world of psychology and research around this topic! You are in for a treat!

SO let’s first, Meet Lauren Gaines: a devoted mother, loving wife, and the insightful author of "Unshakeable Kids: Three Keys to Raising Spiritually Strong and Emotionally Healthy Children". With a degree in child psychology, Lauren combines her academic expertise with her passion for nurturing families.

She empowers parents and children to communicate effectively, establish structured routines, and find restful rhythms amidst life's busyness. By integrating cognitive behavior therapy principles with biblical wisdom, she demonstrates how renewing our minds can transform our actions.

Through practical advice, inspiring stories, and scripture-based guidance, Lauren helps parents build an unshakeable foundation at every stage of parenting.

Join the conversation and feel refreshed and excited about raising incredible kids! 🌟📚👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Episode #133, "Face the Darkest Valley with Prayer" with guest speaker, Teodora and co-host, Heather Youpa

Welcome back to the BE ENCOURAGED! Podcast!

I am your host, Jackie Brindle and you are listening to episode 133! This is the continuation of episode 132 where Heather Youpa, my co-host and I, interviewed our dearest friend, Teodora!

THIS episode is so special and deserves it’s own space and name! In this, Teadora continues to unravel more of her own story when she walked through one of the scariest moments she ever faced, being a mother.

As she faced one of life’s darkest valleys, it was her unwavering faith that became a beacon of hope. 💖🙏 When her son faced relentless seizures, she turned to prayer, trusting in the Lord's will over her son’s life.

Her journey is a testament to the power of a praying mother and serves as an incredible encouragement to any parent navigating their own trials. Through every tear and whispered prayer, she found strength and witnessed miracles. In this episode, Teadora encourages us all, to give Jesus a try!

To surrender your life and see where it goes because it has transformed hers, so there’s no telling what your life will do when you place Him at the center of it, too!

So grab your cup of coffee, get on your walk or run and BE ENCOURAGED!  🌟✨

Episode # 132 "Taste and See the Lord is Good!" with guest speaker Teodora and co-host, Heather Youpa

Welcome back to the BE ENCOURAGED! Podcast! This is episode 132! (a two-part conversation and you are listening to part 1!) Also, please I had some technical difficulties, my apologies! I hope that although it's late getting out there --- You all think it's worth the wait! Also, the sound may not be on par, as I am trying out a new platform.

But that doesn't stop us for enjoying a rich conversation that will leave you ENCOURAGED!

You are in for a real treat today because I have a very special guest and dear friend, Teodora on the show!

Additionally, Heather Youpa is coming alongside me to help co-host this episode! This is about a true story of a mother and daughter who found Jesus Christ, while living in a Communist Country!

It will have you on the edge of your seat and also asking yourself some questions within!

This episode challenges me to consider the generational impact I want to leave behind for my children and for those around me. Also, it encourages me to reflect on where my faith was stirred up and I sought the Lord for myself.

Who were the ones who made a generational impact on me, by sewing seeds of faith into my life? What do I need to take out of my life so I can listen to the Lord and hear Him? .....Take out the Pride? Selfishness? Do I need to slow down and Be Still? Should I get up before the kids for a quiet house? Pause and look around?

I hope you consider and reflect on that, as well as, and the power and Might of God, which you will hear more about in this episode!

It's incredible when we turn our hearts to God and are obedient to what God is calling us to do and strengthening us to press through!

Psalm 38:4 says, "Taste and see the Lord is good, blessed are the ones who take refuge in Him." Let this verse be the anchoring theme of this episode and of our faith walk. So grab your cup of coffee, get on your walk or run, or pull up a chair and join us --- but wherever you are ---- BE ENCOURAGED!
