We’re thrilled to welcome Per Olof Arnäs (PhD) to the BayInCo AI series, logistics trailblazer, AI and tech enthusiast, university teacher, advisor, board member, and pizza lover. Known for making complex technologies surprisingly human, Per Olof has decades of experience driving digital transformation across both industry and academia.
Currently, he leads Chalmers University’s central administration digitalization journey, overseeing various AI pilots and initiatives that improve efficiency and future-proof administrative functions. This year alone, he and his colleagues have hired and supervised six teams comprising 24 people to explore generative AI in real-world administrative settings.
In this episode, Kailash and Per Olof explore how generative AI can reshape organizations from the inside out, including:
• How Chalmers is implementing AI in its administrative processes
• Bottom-up AI adoption: exploration first, adaptation second
• The evolving role of generative AI in academic environments over the coming years
• The skills needed to thrive in an AI-enhanced future
• The impact of AI on campus life and university operations
A fascinating conversation that highlights how AI in academia is not just about technology, it’s about people, exploration, and creating smarter ways of learning and working.
A must-listen for anyone curious about AI-driven organizational change, digitalization in academia, and the future of work in educational institutions.
