Unless you are living under a rock, there is a tremendous amount of controversy within the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) concerning this issue. The SBC meets June 13-14, 2023, and one of the resolutions proposed by Tom Ascol you can read here. It is regarding the office of the pastor/elder and if women are able, according to Scripture fulfill this office. The question is not about ability, but it is biblical.

In this episode, I unpack the necessary systematics and hermeneutical understanding to arrive at a biblical answer concerning this question.
