E21 - Post COPA clasico analysis, discussing the fixture against United and Xavi’s new philosophy
FC Barcelona is going through major difficulties in terms of injuries. The team is having a hard time bouncing between Cup games, Europa league and league games, losing Dembele, Pedri, Lewandowski and Christensen in the process. Xavi had to make so without those injured and the suspended Gavi. Despite all this, he managed to head to the Bernabeu and win against an inform Real Madrid, which is no easy feat. How did he do it ? Let’s talk about it all

E19 - Pre game talk, FC Barcelona vs Athletic Bilbao, Clasico talking points, Busquets and Eric
Busquets and Eric Garcia may cost Xavi his job. Playing two of your weakest players in such high profile games is suicide but Xavi’s ego and friendships are getting in the way of collective success.

S18 - FC Barcelona v Inter, a do or die for Xavi’s men. Breaking down the importance of this game
Dembele, Rafinha, Lewa, GAVI, Pedri, they all need to be on their A game. We need to create chance after chance, generate as many scoring opportunities as possible, test their defense in every possible way, and watch out for them on the break. It’s a do or die for us and our season but it could be a massive turning point for the club. The fans, the players, everyone needs this win, no matter what happens next. I’m not even excited about the clasico as I am about this one and I believe we can crack that defense. I truly hope Xavi’s got his game plan ready cause this is a big one !

E12 - Messi’s 7th
Like him or love him, Messi’s the undisputed goat. Winning with both his club and national team, the fact he just won his 7th ballon d’or (which we knew he would after Copa america final) caps off one of the most complete athletes of all time. Fully deserved and kinda feel bad for Lewa for not capping on his performances in 2020, cause he should’ve won it then. More on this podcast at moreteekay.com/barcelona360

E11 - Don Xavi's finally here, what now ?

Xavi Hernandez is Barça's new coach. There hasn't been as much excitement about a coach being appointed since Luis Enrique back in 2014. Xavi's got a MASSIVE task ahead of him. Unlike Enrique, he will have to do without Neymar, Messi, Suarez, Iniesta. He's got to rebuild everything from the ground up, physically and mentally, with 17, 18 and 19 YOs being the main protagonists. It's a massive task, and it's nothing like what Pep did back then. Pep had Messi, Xavi and Iniesta. He also had leaders like Puyol, Valdes and Xavi himself in the team.

Not only that, but Pep's biggest weapon back then was the element of surprise. No one expected a team to be so well-drilled, to have so much control. Teams had no time to study us, let alone stop us.

It's different this time though.

Everyone knows Xavi and his ideas, and ideals. Everyone knows how shambolic we've been in the past 5 to 6 years, how weak we are mentally and physically after so many humiliations. Everyone knows our style, now more than ever, so what's expected of Xavi goes far beyond just quick passing and high press, he'll have to reinvent our style of play and introduce some sort of magic to it, some sort of element of surprise.

It's no easy task, it's a massive mountain to climb, especially when half the team is either injured or out of form. This won't be easy, not even for prime Pep.

E7 - Breaking down Joan Laporta’s project, Koeman’s continuity at Barcelona, Hensi Flick and Aguero
Laporta didn’t come to play ! His last statement was pretty powerful and reeks ambition. Koeman now seems on the way out, with Hensi Flick as one of the names thrown out there to replace him. Aguero has apparently already signed a 2 year deal and is likely to join his bestfriend at the Camp Nou. Let’s chop it up

E4 - But can he do it at Celta, away, on a rainy night ? Messi’s Barcelona at it again !
The game against Celta, away, was just brilliant. FC Barcelona, after going down to 10 men, completely dominated the game and score twice after going down to 10 men, which shows just how the whole energy in this team has shifted. Sevilla next.
