It’s time for the second in our stripper double feature, Paul Verhoeven’s Showgirls! And don’t you dare call Nomi a stripper—she’s a dancer goddamnit. One of us is convinced that this movie is better than its reputation as one of the worst films ever made, and one of us thinks its reputation suits it just fine. Is this movie a clever critique of the American dream, or is it just a stupid film starring that woman from Saved By the Bell? I think you know the answer.
