Today on Bang Le' Dex: We are proud to welcome back Luisa Houseworks aka DJ Luisa — is a boundary-pushing DJ, producer, and community organizer based in El Paso, Texas. With over a decade behind the decks, she’s known for her dynamic sets that move fluidly between Soul, Funk, Techno, House, Disco, and beyond. Her musical storytelling is rooted in a deep sense of feeling, with each performance serving as a celebration of rhythm, culture, and connection.
Raised on the U.S.–Mexico border, Luisa brings a distinctive perspective to her work, blending regional influences with global sounds. Her journey has taken her from underground parties to stages shared with artists like DJ Minx, Hito, and John Acquaviva.
She’s also collaborated with major brands like Adidas, Focusrite, and Charivari Detroit all while staying true to her grassroots approach.
In 2017, Luisa co-founded Ask A Freak, a party series centered on House music and community care, which later evolved into a podcast on Charivari Detroit Radio. The following year, she launched Beanalog, a hands-on education initiative that empowers people to learn music gear, run sound, and create — without gatekeeping. Beanalog has held sessions everywhere from libraries and cafés to studios across El Paso.
Luisa is also the podcast manager for female:pressure, an international network advocating for women, trans, and non-binary artists in electronic music and digital art. Through her work with the collective, she uplifts marginalized voices and champions inclusivity in the scene.
Whether spinning at a middle school dance or curating a radio feature, Luisa brings the same purpose: to share sound, spark joy, and build community. For her, music is more than entertainment — it’s power, resistance, and belonging. We are truly excited to have her back playing some tunes with us today!
