Lord Krishna started living his life under the love and care of Nand Ji and Yashoda Maiyya in Gokul. On the other hand, Kansa was living a life under threat and he was unable to find the child who was destined to kill him. He became very restless and sent Pootna a ferocious female demon, which was famous for disguising herself as a pretty woman. She was asked to look and kill all the children in the kingdom who were one year old or less.
When Pootna reached Baal Krishna’s house, dressed as a beautiful woman, Yashoda maiyya did not doubt her and let her play with the little child. Pootna carried poison with her and tried to give it to the child in the milk. Krishna being a God was well aware of her hidden motives from the moment he saw her and using his might, he killed the demoness Pootna.
