This week, Duncan & The Baz trek into 2019: After the Fall of New York (1983), a delirious, budget-conscious mashup of Mad Max, Escape from New York, and every dusty, leather-clad fever dream the early ‘80s could muster.

In the smouldering ruins of what used to be America, the world’s last fertile woman is out there somewhere, and only one man can save her… provided he can fight his way through mutant mole-people, flamethrower-wielding warlords, and a gang of inexplicably French ape-men. With Michael Sopkiw as the stoic, eye-patched hero Parsifal, and an ensemble of grizzled mercenaries who look like they’ve just wandered off the set of a Conan knock-off, this is a quest movie for anyone who thinks subtlety is overrated.
