Durga Bhabhi is also called the ‘Iron Lady’ of India.
Durga Bhabhi used to open the trunk of the clothes that were sent to the co-revolutionaries in jail and send them messages written in code words.

At 12 noon the police arrested him from his residence. Later, Durga Bhabhi said in an interview, “The police came to arrest me in three lorries. I was taken to Lahore Fort. There SSP Jenkins threatened me and said, “We will get to know everything about you from your colleagues. Already happened. We have all your records.” I immediately replied, “If you have evidence against me, then prosecute me, else leave me.”
After the hanging of many fellow revolutionaries and the martyrdom of her husband, Durga Bhabhi was left completely alone. But he did not lose courage. Worked as a teacher at different places for a few years and then also joined the Congress. Later she continued teaching poor children in Ghaziabad and on 15 October 1999 she said goodbye to the world.
