The subversive and radical sound of Selve
Having developed the first embers of their latest album on Jabbir Jabbir Country, and refined it in Paris, Selve made history by being the first Indigenous-led band to record an album at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London. But, what does this mean in the context of a music making tradition that stretches back 60, 000 years? Loki Liddle and Reece Bowden reflect on their latest album: Breaking into Heaven. Selve's Breaking into Heaven tour kicks off September 27 at Gloucester Country Club (Gloucester) before heading to Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and the Gold Coast October 3 -November 14.
