Australian Hunting Backcountry

As the name suggests, the podcast is focusing on backcountry hunting, not only in Australia and New Zealand, but anywhere else overseas where great adventures exist. I want to bring a podcast that explores gear, places and hunting opportunities, lived experiences, different perspectives and share the passion that people have for hard earned hunts. I will also bring Australian and small businesses to the front, so listeners are exposed to some of the smaller or niche providers out there that support hunters and give hunters the chance to hear about things that they might want but didn’t know to look for. We will examine gear and hear why hunters want/need some products and might not need others, conduct comparisons between products and locations and discuss the work/life/hunting balance of hunters. The podcast will be educational and entertaining for hunters ranging from those who have no backpack hunting experience to those that consider themselves experts (as we can all learn something from someone).

Ep. 20 "What role should monolithic projectiles have in hunting?"

With the potential ban on lead core projectiles being a hot topic at the moment, I speak with Nathan & Steph Morris from 'Terminal Ballistics Research' and pick his bran stemming from their extensive research. Nathan is considered a world leading expert in ballistics and published an article on his website titled "Homogenous copper bullets can be inhumane".

Nathan and Steph have an extensive knowledge base on their website and I'd strongly encourage you to visit it for for this topic and many others; www.ballisticstudies.com

On the 'Friend of the Podcast' segment I have been chatting with Mick from 'The Deer School' about the upcoming course running in September to be offered a special discount for listeners who mention the podcast - $150 off the cost of the course. Anyone interested in learning about more successful deer hunting should contact them or check them out @deerschool_melbourne and on Facebook

I would also ask you to support the 2024 podcast partners;
