This week we review the 2004 action thriller film Man on Fire directed and produced by Tony Scott.
It is based on the 1980 novel of the same name by A. J. Quinnell.
The film stars Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning in lead roles, alongside Christopher Walken, Radha Mitchell, Giancarlo Giannini, Marc Anthony, Rachel Ticotin and Mickey Rourke in supporting roles.
This adaptation shifts the setting from Naples, Italy, to Mexico City, diverging from the earlier 1987 film version of Quinnell's novel, which was also produced by Milchan.
We start the podcast with a story from the Scotsman about how he is feeling. We move to a poker discussion and the etiquette of waiting at a friends house if you lose the game early in the evening.
Both boys thoroughly enjoyed this action film. Super cast. Fast paced for the most part.
There is a mid way pause while the boys argue about the epilogue at the end of the movie. \
We ask the question "how far would you go to save someone in your family" and then the ultimate question " could you take another person's life".
