“If you think of all discovery as just art and it’s just this giant jigsaw puzzle with the X that you were trying to solve, then maybe that’s what it is. It’s like solving a jigsaw, but solving a jigsaw presumes that you sort of know what you’re trying to get to and you have an intuitive, or some sort of higher sense of the outcome. The question is, does AI have that awareness or that sense of an outcome? Where does that sense come from? They say it comes from intuition, from something else. People who are spiritual will say it’s your higher self, you’re connected to something in the Universe, it depends on whether you’re purely Darwinian, spiritual, or somewhere in the middle.” 37:24
