It Is Hard to Repair The World: Human Resilience during the 30 Years War

This week during our discussion of repairing the world, we talk with Dr. Evan Johnson, who studies the 30 Years War in Germany, to remember the continuity of human resilience in extended conflict zones.

We discuss the importance of history, memory, and mourning; as well as, considering how we can be part of repairing the world by the way we think about, study, and teach about conflicts that destroyed so many lives.

Book Recommendations:

Coping with Life during the Thirty Years’ War (1618-1648) Sigrun Haude
