A podcast where I talk about movies from the 30s to the 60s. I will be looking at the plot, themes, characters, funny anecdotes, and anything worth mentioning. The structure of the podcast will alternate between very famous movies from the time (eg Hitchcock) and lesser known movies that are definitely worth talking about. I will also be dedicating some episodes to specific actors and directors and looking at their contribution to cinema.

8 - Lolita (1962)

"How did they ever make a movie of Lolita?" Scratch that, how did they ever make a movie of Lolita in the early 1960s with an actual 14 year old playing the role of the "nymphet"? Good question. Today I dive into the movie adaption of the 1955 infamous novel by Vladimir Nabokov. With nothing more explicit than a kiss on the cheek, Kubrick manages to convey exactly what is going on in this disturbing story. If anything to do with hebephilia upsets you and makes you very uncomfortable, I do not recommend listening.
