My Soul, Come Forth! || John 11:43 || The Devotional

Today's Devotion

Topic: My Soul, Come Forth!

Text: John 11: 43

43 And having said these things, He cried in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth! Amen

Oh life! It can take us so far from light, with no hope to rise back up again. A place very deserted and lonely with tears acting as your only companion. It feels worse when you know the Lord and have been praying Him into your circumstances but to no avail. And what can an ordinary person do in a situation where even God is silent?

A family of two sisters and a brother faced the same situation during Jesus' time on earth. They really loved Jesus and are comforted that He loves them too. They would do anything for Him if only He would allow them. Believing in Him, serving Him and listening to every word He said.

It was only natural that the two sisters, Mary and Martha, sent word to Jesus that their only brother was sick. They have seen Him heal many many diseases that were even more severe. But, as life sometimes presents us, Jesus doesn't not show up "on time" (or at least so they thought) and their brother Lazarus dies.

The sisters weep so loud in deep anguish and a whole community of sympathizers could not console them. Their beloved brother is gone, forever. But you see, we often focus on the pain of the sisters and neglect how sad Lazarus might have been realising with each cough, shiver, vomit, body ache and fever that Jesus had abandoned him for death.

When Jesus finally shows up, Lazarus is already dead; four days! Nothing else could be done except to mourn him. Jesus asked that He be taken to the tomb of His friend, and it was thought that He wanted to mourn Lazarus there. But when He asked that they roll away the stone, Martha hesitated. She said " but, Lord, by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days. Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” (John 11: 40).

Beloved, rush to the streets and the neighbourhood. Tell the dejected, sick, destitute and lonely not to despair. *_If only they can BELIEVE, THEY WILL SEE THE GLORY OF GOD IN THEIR LIVES THIS VERY MOMENT._*

As they took away the stone, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” Then the dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”

Meditate on this word child of God and begin to pray, even as the Lord commands you to COME FORTH! See yourself walking out of your pain, broken heart and misery in the name of Jesus. Ward off cloth of death, shame and poverty and be set free in the mighty name of Jesus. Your situation is not unto death but FOR THE GLORY OF GOD. COME THEE FORTH, NOW! Be set free in Jesus name.

He Wouldn't Answer? || Mark 15:4-5 || The Devotional

Topic: He Wouldn't Answer?

Text: Mark 15: 4-5

4 And Pilate again asked Him, "Have you no answer to make? See how many charges they bring against you." 5. But Jesus made no further answer so that Pilate was amazed. Amen

Easter is here again and as usual, the fuss around it is on. Is it not supposed to be a period set aside to remember the events that surrounded the death and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah?

Talking about the very Savior whose life showed us the way back to the Father and whose death redeemed us from the power of sin and death? The One whose blood purges us from our sin and whose resurrection assures believers of a glorious life in eternity one day to come? How easily we have forgotten about its true essence, just to make way for merry and fun making.

You see, in the morning of His crucifixion, a consultation was held and Jesus was delivered to Pilate. Seeing Jesus as a righteous man and having been warned by his wife of what she had experienced and seen the night before because of Christ, Pilate sought to free Jesus and gave Him the opportunity to clear Himself. "Have you no answer to make? See how many charges they bring against you." Pilate inquired. Yet Jesus would not answer.

Yes, He made no further answer so that Pilate was amazed. It was for this purpose the Son of Man had come so that through His death and resurrection, God's promise of saving mankind would be accomplished. Being innocent of all the charges, answering in His defense would get Him acquitted and discharged. Yet "the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin." (Hebrews 9: 22)

Brethren, is it for nothing that Christ suffered this kind of mockery and death? Would we allow His death and resurrection be in vain? Can't we see how He humbled Himself, even till He took his last breath that we may be saved? Should we be like the centurion at the time who had to wait to see all the miraculous signs after Jesus' death to realize He was indeed the Son of God?

Easter is, and should be about Christ alone. A day of reflection about where we would have been if Jesus had not loved us and given His life in our place. Any other imposed reason would still not measure up.

May your Love for the Savior be rekindled as you reflect on His life this day and may the power of His resurrection cause you to offer your life as a living sacrifice. In the process of doing these, may every door that is closed in your life be opened as the curtain of the temple is torn into two to give you direct access to the presence of God. There in the throne room, every life gets changed by mercy. Yours should never remain the same too. Kindly click, watch, and be blessed: https://youtu.be/JdfQ4a0X4to?si=cdIYhn9cKtEe_rHJ

A Significant Pursuit || Luke 2:8 || The Devotional
Today's Devotion Topic: A Significant Pursuit Text: Luke 2:8 “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” Amen Naturally, every human life is driven by some pursuit of a kind — a desire, goal or aim that spurs them on. The people we come across on a daily basis are involved in one activity or the other based on a fundamental pursuit in life. Whether it is combining job and studies, staying up late to finish a task, waking up early enough to catch a bus and beat traffic, cutting down on spending, taking some time off, or ending a long-standing relationship; each of these actions undoubtedly has a bigger pursuit at its core. It could be in order to climb up the socio-economic ladder in society, to secure a promotion, to acquire better grades, to save extra money for some projects ahead, or to spend quality time with God or family. No matter what it might be, one could be willing to sacrifice so much in order to realise his/her pursuits. Unfortunately, some people chase pursuits which have no significance to their purpose on earth, only to realise at the end that they have been "chasing the wind." In today's scripture reference, we are told that some wise men saw the Star of the One who had been born King of the Jews — Jesus the Christ — and decided to pursue it in order to worship Him. Eventually, when the Star led them to where the baby Jesus had been born, they saw the Child with His mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped Him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh (verses 1-11). What exactly could have made wise men travel a very long distance to seek a little child? Why would they even bother giving Him gifts from their treasure chests? Indeed, they had realised that seeking out the King of Kings was a significant pursuit worth undertaking. They had understood that despite all their wisdom, they still had need for the Saviour of the world. To them, seeking this Child was more of an act of wisdom than a waste of time. So when Herod tried to lure them into his diabolic scheme, they allowed God to lead them in keeping their focus and averting evil. Beloved, what are you seriously pursuing in life? Is it of any significance to the purpose of God for your life? Are you seeking to realise this pursuit without the Alpha and Omega of life Himself? How has your relationship with this Giver and Sustainer of life been? Ponder over these and begin to pray. Invite Jesus into your heart as Lord and Saviour if you haven't done so yet. May the Lord guide you in all your pursuits. (www.yonghana.org; Like our Facebook page: Y OUTREACH NETWORK)

God of Wonders Beyond Our Galaxy! || Psalm 115:3 || The Devotional

Today's Devotion

Topic: God Of Wonders, Beyond Our Galaxy!

Text: Psalm 115:3

"Our God is in heaven; He does whatever pleases Him." Amen.

Who is God and where is He? The Lord God is the Mighty Creator of the entire universe. All creation depends on His sustaining power for existence. He is Supreme in all things yet loving and peaceful towards mankind.

Come to think of it; how was the earth's foundations laid, how was its dimensions marked off, and on what were its footings set? How were the boundaries of the sea set, how does God give orders to morning and show dawn its place, how does He provide food for the raven? These and all the wonderful things we see, are made possible by His spoken word.

Our text for the day points out two very unique attributes of God that make Him stand out among the gods:

1. Heaven is His throne and the earth His footstool (Isaiah 66: 1). It is a beautiful place built for His dwelling, glory and pleasure. A place so vast and capable of accommodating all the inhabitants of the earth and the host above, with room for more. Yet His presence fills the entire space and brings each and everyone so close to God, in such a unique way. So that, no one is ever really far.

There in heaven, our God sits on a throne high and exalted (Isaiah 6: 1). From afar, He has "the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne" (Revelations 4: 3). Prophet Ezekiel had seen a little bit more of God much earlier, before John the revelator. He wrote:

"And high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be His waist up He looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down He looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded Him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around Him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord." (Ezekiel 1: 26b- 28a). Now, "from His dwelling place He watches all who live on earth" (Psalm 33: 14).

2. He does whatever pleases Him. The Almighty God is Sovereign. He is not answerable or accountable to anyone but Himself. If there was anyone above Him, He would have. But actually, there's none. That is why He has exalted His Word above His name so that whatever He says He will do, is exactly what He will do. Bound by His own word, He never goes contrary.

Meditate on this for a minute. Do you see it now? Our God is so big, so strong and mighty- there is nothing He can not do. He has the power to shape your life to conform to His nature and glory. But oh man! Too many times and we are questioning Him. Getting disappointed in Him here and there because things didn't go as you always want it. Forgetting it is His love and mercies that bring us anywhere near Him, not our right. As for our deeds, the least said about them, the better.

Begin to pray now, plead His mercy over your life, to pardon the ways you had wrongly perceived Him. Submit to His supremacy. Invoke His mighty power over your life and circumstance- A WONDERFUL CHANGE WILL COME ALL OVER YOU, IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME.

The Life That We Live In Christ || Philemon 1:4-7 || The Devotional

Today’s Devotion

Topic: The Life That We Live In Christ

Text: Philemon 4-7

"4 I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, 5 because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. 6 I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. 7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord's people." Amen!

Beloved in Christ, the little or much we keep doing for the sake of the gospel, often has several recurring effects on many others who may be observing us from afar; and we wouldn't even know. This is especially so for the people who take the Word of God seriously and apply its truth to their every circumstance.

These same people offer themselves daily to prayer and devotion. They therefore literally carry the presence of God with them everywhere they go.

A little smile here, a little act of kindness there; the demonstration of their faith everywhere and they are making Christianity very attractive to those who do not believe. Their lives reassure those who have gone astray of the love in Christ that awaits to transform them into HIS likeness if they will just come back home.

Philemon, was one of such believers. His love for the Lord and service to His people had refreshed many and encouraged giants like Paul that their effort in sharing the gospel was not in vain at all. Actually, the lives of many that are like Philemon, are there as evidence for all who doubt that Jesus Christ saves, redeems, transforms and glorifies all who come to Him; especially those who believe in His name.

Beloved, why shouldn't your own life in Christ be like that of Philemon too? Isn't the Spirit who rose Jesus from the dead, and quickened the mortal bodies of the such as Philemon, the same who is living on the inside of you? Why then, has your life in Christ not attracted unbelievers back to God and failed to encourage the Lord's labourers that their work is not in vain?

Check your life and have some retrospective reflections. How practical is your love for all the Saints, and how tangible is your faith in Jesus? How has your love for God given great joy and encouragement to those who preach the gospel and defend our faith? How many of the Lord's people does your life and faith refresh every day?

Meditate on these and begin to pray. Trusting the Lord Jesus to transform you by the renewal of your mind so that you can be like Him in thought and in action. Many want to believe what they hear about the gospel of Christ, but they look at your life first. Don't disappoint Heaven. May your life perpetually reflect the beauty of our God and may He constantly demonstrate all His blessings and glory through you.

That way, the sinner is attracted home, and the labourer is encouraged to continue working for our God. Go out today and every day, and be used by God to witness to, encourage and refresh as many as His light upon your life will attract unto Himself. We May Not Know How || Mark 4:26-29 || The Devotional
Today’s Devotion Topic: We May Not Know How Text: Mark 4: 26- 29 26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain — first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.” Amen. One of the greatest worship leaders of our time, Don Moen, wrote a song based on Isaiah 43:19, titled 'God will make a way'. In the song, He says something so profound; "HE WORKS IN WAYS WE CANNOT SEE". And this is very true. When Jesus wanted to explain better the truth above, He shared it in a parable. In the story, He likened the kingdom of God to a man who went about scattering seed in the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, THOUGH HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW. The period between prayer made to God and that same prayer answered, is the great God of all who works wonders that we cannot see. It is He behind the scenes making meaning of all that science tries to prove. It is He at work when you are able to go to and fro without blemish. It is He behind all your business successes making your efforts worthwhile. He is the reason for this peace your family now enjoys. Those who know this obey His Word just like a farmer scatters his seeds. They cherish each word as a farmer cherishes his seeds. They prepare and plan their lives in the light of His Word just as a farmer prepares his land for planting. Now, when they have done all things according to the Word of God, they offer themselves to trust Him to do the rest. And HE (JEHOVAH) NEVER DISAPPOINTS! He watches over His Word to perform. Just as a farmer doesn't necessarily know exactly all the processes that go on behind the scenes after planting till harvest; so a believer may simply not know what God does behind the scenes to bring the miracle we believe Him for. That is why we must never lose faith in God or grow weary in doing good. Especially when we have done all things according to His Word. It looks like He is always getting ready to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ever ask or think, according to the POWER that is at work within us. The fact that you cannot see, doesn't mean He is not working; HE WORKS IN WAYS WE CANNOT SEE. Begin to pray now. Ask for grace to keep trusting and holding on to God even when you see or feel nothing that shows that He's near. Be like the farmer who trusts that so long as the seed, soil and weather conditions are good, then he simply ought to relax, tend the farm and expect a harvest. He may not know how a 'seemingly dead seed' ends up as a tree for the benefit of all, but at least He knows it will sprout and grow. Your harvest is ripe. God has been working on it for so long, though you did not know. Receive your breakthrough now in Jesus name! No Shaking! || Psalm 16:8 || The Devotional
Today's Devotion Topic : No Shaking! Text: Psalm 16 : 8 8 I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Amen The aeroplane provides one of the safest and fastest means of transportation over long distances. Several mandatory checks are undertaken by several engineers and technical experts before the craft is declared safe for 'take off'. However, all these in place do not necessarily guarantee a 'TURBULENCE FREE' journey. Life can be like that you know. Even the most cautious, hard working, pious and optimistic person can be stormed by the most unexpected turbulence right after take off. What do we do about that? Do we lose control and allow the currents to sway us down or we trust God, gird strength and keep soaring until the desired destination? When life bombards you with a severe hurricane that almost crushes your life, do not give up so easily. For "though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you" (Isaiah 54: 10) Beloved in Christ, if the LORD’S UNFAILING LOVE FOR US KNOWS NO SHAKING, then we too know NO SHAKING! We have become like Mount Zion, which can not be shaken but endures forever ( Psalm 125 : 1). Therefore, encourage all who are fearful to rise up again. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. 7 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress (Psalm 46: 1- 4, 7) Begin to pray and commit your weak and feeble heart to Jesus. Ask for a "no shaking" attitude in your spirit against all the fiery darts of satan. God is with us- we will not be consumed. There is a river whose stream makes glad the city of God. It flows with living waters that generate unspeakable joy, peace and strength for every storm that threatens our path. Therefore come what may; whatever may be, NO SHAKING! Don't Fall Away; Stand! || John 16:1 || The Devotional

Today's Devotion

Topic: Don't Fall Away; Stand!

Text: John 16: 1

"All this I have told you so that you will not fall away." Amen

One day Jesus gave some very critical teachings to guide all who mean to walk with Him to the end.

From John chapter 15: 1-8, He said He is the true vine and His Father is the gardener. We ought to remain in Him so as to bear much fruits. Then from verses 9- 17, He explains that as the Father has loved Him so has He loved us; therefore we should remain in His love and love each other.

From the verse 18 of the same chapter through to verse 25, He forewarned that the world will hate us because we do not belong there anymore. He also said that a servant was not greater than the Master. If He was persecuted, then we will be as all. Finally, in the last verses of 26 to 27, Jesus comforted them saying, "When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father — the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father — He will testify about me."

Now it is not until the first verse of the next chapter (16), that Jesus explains why He had been talking about remaining in Him, loving one another, preparing for persecution and receiving the ministry of the Holy Spirit. He explained by saying that, "All this I have told you so that you will not fall away."

Wow! It's amazing, isn't it? That the love of our Master for us has no bounds. He doesn't want any of us to fall away. No, He doesn't! He has therefore gone all out to arm us with the main truth which will help the believer to not fall away.

Join with us then; let us teach our generation of believers to do everything possible to remain in Jesus so that we can bear fruits. For if we don't, the Father who is the gardener will prune us off. Let us also learn from Jesus to love one another, just as He loved us and gave Himself for us. For Jesus has demonstrated greater love for us by laying down His life for us all. If we do not love each other, then the love of God is not in us.

Let us equip them again to be steadfast in persecution, for there is a great reward when we don't faint. And help them understand that we can't make it in this Christian journey on our own unless we allow the HOLY SPIRIT to help and strengthen us. That is the way to remain standing in Christ, even with the odds against us. Jesus carefully taught us all this so that we will not fall away.

Beloved, "therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to STAND" (Ephesians 6:13). Kindly click, watch and be blessed: https://youtu.be/9Bqc99ov1Es
