Hong Kong’s Street Art Scene with Elsa Jeandedieu
Hello Everyone, welcome to episode 8! Today we'll talk about street art! I love it for two particular reasons. First and foremost, wall art gives a second life to ordinary, old and ugly buildings and transforming them into cheerful and extraordinary.  It’s just so cool to give a second life to something! Secondary, I adore street art because is available 24/7 and even in such a busy city as hong kong is, people will find a moment to enjoy any artwork on the way to work or gym. So no matter what you do in life, you can stay connected with art and for a moment just enjoy the cultural side of the city. When I came to Hong Kong in 2009 there was not much wall art on the streets, but in the last decade, the situation has changed. We have many talented street artists and organizations such as HKWalls which supports street art initiatives. One of my favourite artworks which always makes me smile belongs to my incredible guest today -   Elsa Jeandedieu and I had such a pleasure to finally meet her and learn more about her story. I admire Elsa on so many levels. She is the founder of Elsa Jeandedieu Studio which specializes in unique wall textures, murals and wall art in Asia. Originally from France, she moved to Hong Kong almost a decade ago and she is not shy to challenge herself as an artist, entrepreneur and pursue her passions such as ultramarathons. Elsa is crossing her limits by attending the most challenging long-distance races around the world. We will talk about how she developed her career and how it is to work with high-end clients such as Chanel and Robuchon. Finally, we will focus on street art and the mission behind her artworks which you can find all around Hong Kong island! Without any further delay. Enjoy my chat with Elsa!
