Stephane Conradie is a printmaking lecturer at the University of Cape Town who won the Standard Bank Young Artist Award for 2023. She is known for her bricolage assemblages composed of the trinkets and collectables from family homes that carry the memory and culture of social groups. She draws particularly from her own family experience in the Northern Cape and Southern Namibia, using once treasured objects to investigate the transfer of knowledge and culture through familial generations whose experience of home has been marked by political migration and dislocation.
