# 1 - Papa Wemba, the King of Rumba

Papa Wemba is a famous Congolese singer who is also known as the King of Rumba. Having started his career in the late 60s with the band Zaïko Langa Langa, his life journey is an incredible history book to learn more about African music and Congo's history. Papa Wemba transitioned to the ancestors in April 2016 but today we want to celebrate his legacy as well as Congo's 60th Independence Day !
