Jean Marie Ishimwe describes himself as a Rwandan Refugee in Kenya, as well as a University of Nairobi student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. He is the founder of Nawezaa, a Media & Mentorship organization that seeks to support the engagement of refugees and locals, by providing a collaborative platform for change agents. Lastly, Jean Marie is also the Chairperson & Partnership Lead for Youth Voices Community, a refugee-led entity that aims to spotlight refugees' lived experiences whilst also building resilience & self-reliance.
