Maternal asthma and allergic predisposition are associated with an increased risk of congenital heart defects in offspring, particularly ventricular septal defects. The risk of ventricular septal defects is evident in cases of allergic asthma and atopy, but not in nonallergic asthma. Risk factors and risk-indicating model for early-onset neonatal sepsis after preterm prelabor rupture of membranes: A historical cohort study
Maternal diabetes, fever, positive urinary or vaginal/cervical culture, fetal tachycardia, and decreasing short-term variation were associated with an increased risk for EONS in a PPROM population. A model combining these risk factors performed better at indicating EONS risk than the clinicians' suspicion of intra-amniotic infection.
