Welcome to AOA talks! An architecture and design podcast hosted by Faisal U-K.
On this episode Faisal and Barry discuss the importance of nature in architecture, the difference between biophilic design and biomorpism, how architecture can help people cope with the pandemic/lockdown, and The Bartlett School of Architecture.
Barry Wark is an architect and designer exploring novel forms of integrating nature into our built environment. He does this through biophilic design principles; aesthetic theory surrounding how we engage the built and natural environment; and advanced digital design and fabrication technologies.
His work has been published internationally and is frequently invited to give lectures and workshops to architects as well as other design disciplines. He has acted as guest critic at leading schools of architecture including SciArc, UPenn, UCLA, Texas A&M and Innsbruck University. He currently combines his architectural practice with teaching and research activities at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL.
