He was recently honoured at the Earth Day Gala, receiving the inaugural Climate Artist Leadership Award for his extraordinary efforts to leverage the power of Music to raise awareness about the threat of global climate change and promote solutions. Shapiro serves as publisher of Relix magazine and sits on the board of several civic and charitable organizations, including The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, New York Public Radio, and City Parks Foundation.
