
What is the Voice? On October the 14th 2023 Australian people of voting age are forced to make a decision whether or not they want to give a select group of First Nations people the right to represent their people and advise the government of the day and future times about matters affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. The Voice is a representational change in the constitution and does not guarantee any legislation change. The government will ultimately have to decide whether a new law or existing law is introduced or modified to become enforcable legislation. The Voice itself will not have the power to make laws, modify laws or overturn laws. The Voice is not a Third Chamber in Australian Parliament.
