Many women in their 40s and 50s notice a significant change in their ability to lose weight. Keeping the pounds off feels harder, and no matter how hard we try, our bodies don’t respond to diet and exercise the way they used to. It truly feels like our bodies are rebelling against us! 

What is actually going on in our bodies that makes weight loss so much harder? 

As we get older, our bodies change in terms of our muscles, metabolism, and hormones, which has a huge bearing on how we gain weight, and the difficulty of losing it. Then there’s menopause, which also has a huge effect. 

Weight loss shouldn't just be about how we look and being free from disease. It’s about being healthy and fit to live our best lives. Is nutrition as simple as calorie in, calorie out? How do we make real changes to our health routine, and what is holding us back from making the adjustments that we need? 

In this episode, I’m joined by weight loss and health coach, Dr. Orlena Kerek. She shares how we can automate healthy habits, and why weight loss becomes harder as we get older.

Dr. Orlena Kerek is a pediatrician turned weight loss and health coach who helps women over 40 achieve their ideal lives. Orlena teaches busy women how to effortlessly enjoy healthy eating and living.
