Charlie Dog's Best Gags - The Awful Orphan (1949) Review
Video version available on YouTube. Please note that certain sections may not translate well to the audio only format. In this episode, we review 'The Awful Orphan,' a classic Looney Tunes short directed by Chuck Jones and released in 1949. Joined by my good friend @blugenesi, we discuss the film's plot, where Charlie Dog tries to convince Porky Pig to be his owner, along with trivia and our favourite gags. We share our thoughts on why this short is funnier and more refined than its predecessor 'Little Orphan Airedale' and appreciate the subtle animation and Mel Blanc's voice acting.  00:00 Introduction and Welcome 01:00 Synopsis of 'The Awful Orphan' 01:34 Trivia and References 01:57 Comparisons to Other Cartoons 03:10 Favorite Gags and Scenes 06:35 Final Thoughts and Ratings 07:20 Conclusion
