(#014) Weird Things We Brought to Antarctica

From bagpipes to jello to cedar shingles… in this episode of Antarctica Did That For Me, we (your hosts Keri Nelson and Cassa Grant)  discuss the weirdest things that we and other Antarcticans have brought to the ice.

People bring a variety of items to Antarctica to make their stay more comfortable and enjoyable. We’ve categorized them into themes- here’s a sneak peek: "The winner of this category was not just one, not two, but THIRTY Santa suits."

What do all these objects have in common? They might be funny or interesting, but they really highlight the creativity and uniqueness of the community that travels to and works in Antarctica.

The items brought to Antarctica reflect the individual personalities and interests of the Antarcticans, creating a unique and vibrant community on the ice.

And WHY do people bring these kinds of items? Comfort? Boredom? Aspiration? We have a few theories…

Which of us will say, "I always had my silver cape."? You’ll have to listen to find out…
